続いて、なぜローマラリーなのか？についてもお話ししますね。
先日ご紹介したとおり、去年の１１月に、僕は初めてABARTHの本社に訪問して、これまでの全日本ラリーの活動の実績と、近い将来イタリアでABARTHに乗ってラリーをしたいという意思を伝え、そのうえで「もし出るならどのラリーがいいだろう？」と相談しました。
彼らからの返答は意外なもの。「サンレモや、タルガフローリオももちろん素晴らしいラリーだが、今はローマが熱い。
歴史は浅いが、それはキミにとっての不利を少なくするし、何といってもローマでやるんだ。ロケーション、メディアの露出、何より日本からの交通の便がいいだろう？ぜひお勧めだ」
僕自身、恥ずかしながらローマラリーの存在さえ知りませんでしたが、このアドバイスを聞いた瞬間に「ローマで決定！」でしたね。

Now let me explain about “why Rally di Roma Capitale”?
As I mentioned before,I visited ABARTH S.P.A for the first time last December.
There, I introduced our activities in Japanese Rally Championship and told them my dream that I wanna race in Campionato Italiano Rally in the near future.
Their answer was somewhat beyond my knowledge about Italian rally.
“Surely Sanremo and Targa Florio are great rallies as you know,but you should know Rally di Roma Capitale, too.
It is just starting up with only three years history, but that means your disadvantage is small.
And, more than anything, it’s Rome! Imagine the spectacular stages in the city, broad media coverage,and,great access from Japan!.”
I knew nothing about Rally di Roma Capitale until then, but I,straightaway,decided to race in that rally!
